Scotland's South West - Dunure

These ruins of nearby Dunure Castle date back to the 1200s. It was once the main seat of the Kennedy family before they moved to Culzean. To the left of the castle is the Doocot (Dovecot), a large dome-like structure which would have held 200 bird nesting boxes and would have supplied the castle with fresh food.
